Salmonella worries prompt romaine recall

SALINAS Calif. Concern about possible contamination by salmonella prompted supplier Tanimura & Antle to recall a single lot of bulk and wrapped romaine lettuce, some of which was sold to foodservice.

The romaine in question has a lot code of 531380 and was sold in head form and not as a pre-washed and pre-cut so-called “ready-to-eat” bagged product. Salinas-based Tanimura & Antle said the romaine was distributed in Canada, Puerto Rico and 29 U.S. states.
