Rockelle acquires 50-unit Stewart’s Root Beer chain

MILLER PLACE N.Y. —Rockelle Corp., licensee of such quick-service brands as Chock full o’Nuts, Blimpie and Surf City Squeeze, has purchased the 80-year-old Stewart’s Original Root Beer concept from Frosted Mug Holdings LLC. Terms were not disclosed.

In addition to 50 Stewart’s restaurants in nine states, the deal includes the trademark rights to all Stewart’s products, including soda syrups, hamburgers, hot dogs and condiments. —Rockelle Corp., licensee of such quick-service brands as Chock full o’Nuts, Blimpie and Surf City Squeeze, has purchased the 80-year-old Stewart’s Original Root Beer concept from Frosted Mug Holdings LLC. Terms were not disclosed.

The company plans to merchandise the products in supermarkets.
