Rich Products Corp. chairman earns NRAEF’s highest honor

BUFFALO N.Y. —Robert E. Rich Jr., chairman of Rich Products Corp., was presented with the Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

Rich, who was recognized at the 22nd Annual Salute to Excellence event in Chicago, called it “truly humbling to win an award in honor of Thad and Alice Eure, who spent a lifetime serving as role models for all of us to follow.” —Robert E. Rich Jr., chairman of Rich Products Corp., was presented with the Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

The award, the NRAEF’s highest honor, is presented to someone who is a member of the NRAEF’s College of Diplomates and is acknowledged as an outstanding leader in the restaurant and foodservice industries. The Eures owned and operated the Angus Barn in Raleigh, N.C., and established the Foundation of Hope, which has raised more than $2.5 million for mental health research. —Robert E. Rich Jr., chairman of Rich Products Corp., was presented with the Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

The NRAEF recognized Rich for his achievements in the foodservice industry, his career leadership and his contributions to the industry’s educational initiatives. In 2004 the Buffalo, N.Y.-based firm pledged $90,000 over a nine-year period to the NRAEF to establish the Robert E. Rich Aspiring Entrepreneurs Scholarship to help honor the now-late Robert E. Rich Sr.’s 90th birthday. —Robert E. Rich Jr., chairman of Rich Products Corp., was presented with the Thad and Alice Eure Ambassador of Hospitality Award by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation.

Four scholarships are awarded each year and support the continued education of the undergraduate students who are pursuing careers in the foodservice industry. At the Salute event, Rich announced an additional $50,000 contribution, which will bring the gift to $140,000 and extend the scholarship through 2014. —Robert E.
