Restaurants Unlimited discounts gift cards

SEATTLE Restaurants Unlimited Inc. said it is offering guests 25 percent off all gift card purchases for several of its brands over the next two weeks, joining other operators that have turned to discounting to boost traffic as the recession lingers on.

The multiconcept operator is offering the discount through Aug. 12 for gift cards to its 58 restaurants in 13 states, including the concepts Kincaid’s, Newport Bay, Newport Seafood Grill, Stanford’s, Fondi, Palomino, Palisade, Cutters Bayhouse, Maggie Bluffs, Stanley and Seafort’s, Horatio’s, Skates on the Bay, Ryan’s Grill, Manzana, Portland City Grill, Simon and Seafort’s, Henry’s Tavern, Billy Heartbeats, Clinkerdagger and Scott’s Bar and Grill.

The gift cards can only be purchased in the restaurants.

“During these times, it is important for us to support our guests who have supported us in business for over forty years,” said Norman Abdallah, Restaurants Unlimited’s chief executive. “We know people can’t dine out as often as they’d like to right now, so we’re giving them a chance to enjoy themselves for 25 percent less.”

Several casual-dining and upscale restaurants have offered various discounts and deals, from bundled meal deals, like those offered by O'Charley's, Applebee's and Chili's, to buy-one-entrŽe-get-one-free coupons from T.G.I. Friday's and Ruby Tuesday. Independent restaurants are also stepping up their discounting tactics, with many offering lunch and happy hour specials at the popular $5 price point.
