Pizza Hut’s new value push features presidential candidates

DALLAS Pizza Hut has enlisted Democratic and Republican presidential candidates for a TV spot promoting the chain’s new Pizza Mia bargain-priced pie.

The national TV spot, which can be seen here, shows the candidates during recent debates and splices together their sound bites about the economy. A voice-over then says, “Confused? Fortunately there’s a choice that’s easy to make.”

Pizza Hut is promoting Pizza Mia as “an economic solution for families feeling the financial pinch today,” offering three pizzas for $5 each or one for $6.99.

The chain, which has about 6,200 domestic units, also is using the commercial to urge citizens to vote this year. The commercial concludes with the tag “It’s your choice. Please vote.” Pizza Hut said it is the first company this election year to remind people to vote.
