Pizza Hut rolls Spanish ad for pastas

DALLAS Pizza Hut has begun airing a national Spanish-language TV spot for its Tuscani Pastas featuring real people captured on hidden cameras who are surprised by the quality of the new dishes.

The spot, titled “Cooking Show,” was shot in Mexico City, where people were invited to a taping of the new cooking show, “Cocina Tuscani.” After watching the chef prepare his specialty pasta dishes, the audience sampled the Meaty Marinara and Creamy Chicken Alfredo pastas. After the sampling, the participants learned that the pastas were not made by a chef from a five-star restaurant in Rome but rather by Pizza Hut.

Dieste Harmel and Partners created the ad.

Pizza Hut introduced the pastas in April and supported the launch with a spot for the general market featuring real people being surprised to learn that their gourmet pasta meal at the grand opening of a restaurant was delivered by Pizza Hut.

Pizza Hut, which is based in Dallas, is a division of Yum! Brands Inc. with 6,200 U.S. units.
