P.F. Chang’s names chief marketer

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc. has named Tim McDougall, a former ad agency and sports-marketing executive, its chief marketing officer.

McDougall will be responsible for developing brand strategy for the company’s three concepts: P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Pei Wei Asian Diner and the months-old Taneko Japanese Tavern. Most recently he was vice president of Austin, Texas-based agency GSD&M, where he managed the Frito-Lay account and directed the agency’s consumer research and creative and strategic development.

Before that he was chief marketing officer for the National Basketball Association’s New Orleans Hornets and vice president of marketing for the league’s Houston Rockets. He also spent seven years in brand management for Miller Brewing Co.
