Papa John's international president resigns

LOUISVILLE Ky. Papa John's International said its chief financial officer, David Flanery, will serve as interim president of the pizza company's international division following the resignation of Robb Chase.

Chase, who joined Papa John's in 2006, is leaving to join a private-equity firm in his hometown of Toronto, Canada.

Nigel Travis, Papa John's president and chief executive officer, said the company is disappointed to lose Chase.

"We will continue to invest in our international development as we grow the Papa John's brand worldwide," the British-born Travis said.

In another human resources move, the pizza company hired Lou Jones as senior vice president and general counsel. Jones has more than 24 years of legal experience, the last nine of which she spent at Blockbuster Inc., most recently as senior vice president, corporate and international law.

Papa John's International is the operator or franchisor of some 3,000 pizzerias in 49 states and 29 countries.
