Fresh, local and sustainable are words to live by for Burgerville, the Vancouver, Wash.-based burger concept. And the Chocolate Hazelnut Shake is no exception to Burgerville's philosophy.
Aseasonal winter item that is available until March 27, the Chocolate Hazelnut Shake is made with hazelnuts grown by members of the Hazelnut Growers of Oregon, a member-owned cooperative. Customers also can order a "smoothie" version of the shake that's made with nonfat frozen yogurt rather than ice cream. The ice cream and frozen yogurt also are produced by a local manufacturer.
