Lamppost, Malnati's agree on POS/enterprise tech

News

The 43-unit Lamppost Pizza and Back Street Brewery chain of Tustin, Calif., and 27-unit Lou Malnati's Pizzeria of Northbrook, Ill., both have selected the InTouchPOS point-of-sale system and InTouchOffice enterprise package by ASSAL Corp., the vendor said.

Lamppost Pizza co-founder Tom Barro, whose family still controls the chain, said InTouchOffice's support of remote administration of in-store POS systems and its enterprise reporting capabilities "will save us time and money" versus visiting chain branches to gather data and manage software. Lou Malnati's regional director Kathy Sullivan agreed that being able to retrieve multiunit data "with a touch of a button" is not only cost effective but also "very convenient."

InTouchPOS is a turn-key system using Windows 2003 Server technology that supports single or multi-station configurations and unlimited users, according to representatives of Walnut Creek, Calif.-based ASSAL, which provides hardware and software along with configuration, setup, training and support services.
