Jack in the Box revamps its salads

SAN DIEGO Jack in the Box said it is upgrading its Ultimate Salads line with a new lettuce blend, a choice of warm chicken strips and a more portable, square container.

The salad line has also been expanded for a limited time with the addition of a BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad. The new option features shredded cheddar cheese, sliced cucumbers, grape tomatoes and red onion, served with ranch dressing, a drizzle of barbecue sauce, barbecue-flavored tortilla strips and a choice of crispy or grilled chicken strips on the side.

All of the quick-service chain's salads, offered at a suggested price of $4.99, will feature a lettuce blend of primarily romaine and spring mix served in a container that aims to be more user friendly and easy to grab on the go. Each salad can be accompanied by either the crispy or grilled chicken strips.

Jack in the Box operates or franchises about 2,100 namesake restaurants in 17 states, in addition to more than 350 Qdoba Mexican Grill units and about 50 proprietary Quick Stuff convenience stores.
