Hot Concepts! 2010: Shake Shack

Shake Shack, the seven-unit fast-casual burger chain owned and operated by Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, has taken New York City by storm, boasting a cult-status following that rivals few other restaurant concepts and up to two-hour wait times just to get inside its doors.

Today the chain is expanding in a steady but measured fashion. David Swinghamer, Shake Shack’s chief executive, recently met with NRN to talk about the chain’s philosophy and expansion plans.

Check out the Aug. 9 issue of Nation's Restaurant News for the full story on Shake Shack and other Hot Concepts! Award winners. In the meantime, visit our Special Reports page for exclusive online features on the winners, including videos and photos.
