Harrah’s, Paula Deen team up for casino buffet

TUNICA Miss. Casino operator Harrah's Entertainment Inc. is teaming up with celebrity cooking star Paula Deen to open a 560-seat buffet as part of its $45 million renovation of the 1,168-room Grand Casino Resort Tunica.

Through its subsidiary, Harrah's Operating Co., the company is also renaming the property as Harrah’s Casino Tunica and has scheduled it to open here in May 2008.

The Paula Deen Buffet will join two other food outlets, Replays Sports Bar and Grill and Murano’s Italian Restaurant, on the second floor of the renovated casino.

Harrah’s also recently announced a $1 billion expansion of Caesars Palace Las Vegas as well as an alliance with singer Jimmy Buffett for a $700 million Margaritaville Casino & Resort in Biloxi, Miss., and a substantial expansion to the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind.
