Gandolfo's hires Moe's founder Salzman

ATLANTA Gandolfo's New York Delicatessen has tapped Seth Salzman, a founding partner and former executive of Moe's Southwest Grill and Raving Brands, as chief operating officer.

The 45-unit Atlanta-based deli concept said Salzman, who spent more than seven years at Raving Brands, was chosen to help the franchised Gandolfo's step up its national expansion push.

Salzman resigned along with several other top executives from Raving Brands in 2008, which at the time also operated such concepts as Planet Smoothie, Shane's Rib Shack, and Boneheads Grilled Fish and Piri Piri Chicken.

While at Raving Brands, Salzman held the posts of senior vice president and chief brand head, and was involved in with brand development and operations.

Gandolfo's was founded in 1989, and today is led by owner and chief executive Dan Pool. Its New York-style deli menu offers sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts. Specialty sandwiches include the Rocky Balboa, Big Apple, and Rockafella Ruben.
