Dunkin’ kicks off Bacon Lover’s omelet sandwich, football-theme ads

CANTON Mass. Dunkin’ Donuts has introduced a Bacon Lover’s Supreme Omelet sandwich and is supporting the launch with a broadcast and online campaign featuring ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman.

The sandwich is the latest in a line of breakfast omelets the chain has introduced since January 2006, and Berman is the latest celebrity to appear in Dunkin’ Donuts advertising.

The new sandwich consists of an omelet, assorted vegetables, three slices of thick-cut pepper bacon and colby-jack cheese served on a fresh croissant.

Berman, host of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, appears in TV and radio spots supporting the rollout and in an online promotion, which will award football-theme memorabilia, plasma TVs, airline tickets and gift cards.

Dunkin’ Donuts, which has more than 7,200 units worldwide, recently began using celebrities in its ad campaigns and plans to continue that approach this year to promote various products.
