Coffee Bean opts for Omelet

LOS ANGELES The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf regional beverage chain has awarded creative and strategic marketing duties to Omelet, a Los Angeles-based upstart agency, for the rest of this year. Spending was not disclosed.

Omelet had been working on a project basis during the last year for 540-unit Coffee Bean. It replaces Dailey & Associates of West Hollywood, Calif., on the account.

Omelet was formed in late 2005 by three former TBWA/Chiat/Day creative executives and a Hollywood intellectual property attorney. Its duties for Coffee Bean include creating communications programs in traditional and nontraditional media.

Last summer the agency launched www.mascotroommate.com, a viral campaign in which three college roommates try to get their fourth roommate fired from his job as Coffee Bean’s Ice Blended mascot.
