Church's Chicken names Lavely CMO

ATLANTA Church’s Chicken said Monday it has named Anthony M. Lavely its new chief marketing officer.

In his new post, Lavely will be responsible for all of the 1,650-unit fast-food chain’s marketing activities as well as menu and product development.

Lavely most recently served as chief marketing officer for Ruth's Chris Steak House. He also has held executive roles at Domino’s Pizza, Burger King and Long John Silver’s.

Harsha V. Agadi, president and chief executive of Church's Chicken, said he has known Lavely for more than 15 years and is happy he joined the Church’s team.

“Tony brings a wide and deep knowledge of the quick-service restaurant business at a time when it is more important than ever to support and expand the Church’s brand," Agadi said.

In recent months, Church’s has undergone a series of changes, including the June acquisition of its parent, Cajun Operating Co., by San Francisco-based private-equity firm Friedman Fleisher & Lowe, for approximately $300 million. Friedman Fleisher & Lowe purchased the company from Arcapita Inc., a Bahrain-based private-equity firm.
