MINNEAPOLIS Caribou Coffee Co. said it is rolling the lunch menu featured in its Minneapolis and Chicago stores into all 475 of the chain's locations nationwide.
Units in the two markets offer pre-packaged Roasted Chicken, Smoked Turkey and Rosemary Romano Chicken Salad sandwiches, as well as a Turkey Cherry Pasta Salad. The company plans to partner with local food companies to obtain the items, which are targeted at customers who want to buy a sandwich for lunch while purchasing their morning coffee.
The move came to light as Starbucks, the coffee segment's dominant force, was widely expected to expand its food offerings. The company disclosed Tuesday that it was extending its lunch offerings at the 4,400 units that offer a midday meal.
