MINNEAPOLIS Caribou Coffee has introduced a line of orange-flavored hot and cold drinks, citing research that shows consumers pick a coffee outlet on the basis of its beverage variety.
The coffee chain said the Orange Infusion line was added in anticipation of warmer weather. Included in the six-drink array are two cold choices: the Orange Zest Ice Tea, made with a mango-flavored iced tea; and the Orange Zest Cooler, a fruit-flavored drink with “coffee notes,” said brand parent Caribou Coffee Co. Inc.
Also featured is the Orange Zest Snowdrift, featuring white cocoa and decaf coffee. Caribou noted that the drink could be a choice for children. Rounding out the array are the Orange Zest Latte, the Orange Zest Mocha and the Orange Zest White Mocha. Prices were not disclosed.
The orange drinks are being marketed via billboards, magazine ads and skyway panels, or signs in the enclosed walkways that are used by cold-weather locations like Caribou’s headquarters city here. The chain consists of 484 units.
