Cafe Rio picks web-based, back-office system

News

SALT LAKE CITY Eighteen-unit, fast-casual concept operator Cafe Rio Mexican Grill, based here, has named as its back-office software supplier CrunchTime! Information Systems of Boston, a provider of web-based technology.

"No other vendor offers the same level of functionality and simplicity as CrunchTime! — the system was clearly designed by restaurant [industry] people," Cafe Rio chief financial officer Bob Baker said. He added that CrunchTime!'s centrally hosted software architecture, or "zero footprint restaurant application," made the vendor "an easy choice to partner with while we continue to grow."

CrunchTime! said its back-office suite for restaurant chains, hotels and other multiunit foodservice operations helps users better control things such as supply chain and inventory management, production planning and workforce resources. The technology also provides finance and operations managers with comprehensive enterprisewide reports touching on a number of areas, including actual-versus-theoretical food csts, profit-and-loss positions and labor management, CrunchTime! representatives explained.
