Bugaboo Creek relocates to N.J.

MOUNTAINSIDE N.J. Bugaboo Creek Steak House is moving its headquarters from Atlanta to Mountainside, N.J., also the home base of its new owner, Charlie Brown’s Acquisition Corp.

The parent of the Charlie Brown's Steakhouse chain purchased the 30-unit Bugaboo in June 2007 from Atlanta-based Rare Hospitality Inc. for around $24 million.

Rare's spinoff of Bugaboo came a few months before the multiconcept company announced it would be purchased by Darden Restaurants Inc. Darden's purchase of Rare, whose other concepts included LongHorn Steakhouse and The Capital Grille, closed in October 2007.

Charlie Brown’s Acquisition Corp. owns and operates 55 Charlie Brown’s Steakhouses, seven Office Beer Bar and Grills, and two Jolly Trolley restaurants, which have locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. The company is a subsidiary of Trimaran Capital Partners, a New York-based private-equity firm.
