CARROLLTON Texas Patrons of T.G.I. Friday’s will soon get a chance to taste as well as see and hear the results of reality-television programming.
Friday’s, the 900-unit casual-dining division of Carlson Restaurants Worldwide here, has partnered with the Food Network to feature winning dishes from a new reality program that will debut in February.
The winner in the cable channel’s series “Ultimate Recipe Showdown” will have his or her recipe featured in Friday’s locations as well as winning $25,000.
Hosted by Marc Summers of the show “Unwrapped” and Guy Fieri of “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” and “Guy’s Big Bite,” the “Showdown” series will feature everyday cooks competing in a stadium-like arena. It begins Feb. 17 and lasts six weeks.
